MY IDEAL SCHOOL 22-23 / 23-24

The project was based on the new European Bauhaus: everybody would like to work and study in beautiful, inclusive and sustainable schools. It also dealt with some goals in the Agenda 2030: health and well being, quality education, gender equalities and sustainable cities and communities. The main aim was being able to live this eTwinning experience in this perspective so it was agreed that teachers' and students’ meetings would be held once a month to share this experience as much as possible TOGETHER.

There were 9 teachers and 194 students working together and the places involved were:

Pescara

Telese Terme

Then we started our work.

The students and the teachers completed a presurvey.

In order to revise and learn vocabulary related to school, the students made word clouds.

Hecho con Padlet

All projects must have a logo that identifies it, so it was time to think about ours.

Hecho con Padlet

UNFORTUNATELY, AN EARTHQUAKE HIT TURKEY AND SYRIA SO WE STOPPED WORKING ON OUR PROJECT OUT OF RESPECT FOR OUR COLLEAGUES SINCE THEY HAD TO CONCENTRATE ON THEIR FAMILIES, FRIENDS AND STUDENTS.
WE'RE SURE THAT WE'LL CONTINUE WITH THIS WORK IN FUTURE YEARS.

2023-24

THE SCHOOL YEAR 23-24 STARTED AND WE DECIDED TO CONTINUE WITH THE PROJECT. UNFORTUNATELY, NOT ALL THE TEACHERS OR STUDENTS WERE AVAILABLE SO NEW ONES GOT INVOLVED.

Then we carried out the initial surveys for teachers and students.

These are the STUDENTS' OPINIONS

In November we held the first teachers' meeting to organize the project activities.

We continued with some or the original ideas and we kept the materials prepared by the students that started the project.

Logos were made in order to create a common one.

We made word clouds about vocabulary related to school in order to create an online exhibition.

We made presentations to compare the school systems of the participant countries. The ideas was to make a quiz about them and use it in the students' online meetings.

We used the forum to discuss three topics:

lorenzod marina from Marina's team
My ideal teacher should be a patient and kind person, quite serious during lessons but humorous and friendly during recreational moments.
Furthermore, during the lessons he/she should make us passionate about the subject by involving the students and letting them speak and intervene, and above all he/she should motivate his/her students.
Finally, in my opinion he/she should use Digital devices and lets the students play same game to involve them.
sofiad 1m  from Rita's team
My favourite teacher would be a really kind, nice and loving teacher who gives sweets and cuddles to all children ..!!
Kamila Angela from Angela's team

My ideal  school
What school will be like in the next 50 years?
benedettap 1m from Rita's team
In my opinion, in the next 50 years there will be many changes:
there will be robots and ologram as teachers; there will not be paper books but only tablet and multimedial desk; there will be virtual reality helmet to visit cities and museums on site.
valentina tinozzi from Marina's team
In my opinion, there will be more electronic materials in schools in 50 years.
Students will not use books or notebooks but will use tablets and phones for school activities digitally.
Homework will be done online and sent to teachers on platforms and tests will be done online with quizzes or apps that will be sent to teachers
spola noraos from Isabel's team
I think that in 50 years, school will be a little different, but not much. All the students will have a tablet or computer each. And, there will still be teachers in each class. I think it'll be very similar to the present.
alperen maço from Demet's team
I think after 50 years in schools, robots will start working And students can do anything they want at any time. I think many more things can change
giorgia telese from Maria Grazia's team
I think school will change a lot, there will no longer books but only tablets and screens. There will be many more robots used to work in place of janitors and teachers. We will study with VR viewers and homework cheeks will be digital.

Each topic was assigned to different students from each school in order to form international teams and was mentored by 3 teachers that motivated the students and asked them questions.

In December we met our Turkish and Italian friends. We had lots of technological problems, but we managed to show our educational system and to learn about theirs.

In order to celebrate Safer Internet Day, the teams watched videos and read documents so that the students could ask multiple choice questions on the forum so as to create a quiz to play together on online meetings. We chose the topic: ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE / VIRTUAL REALITY vs AUGMENTED REALITY.

This is the GAME that came out with all the questions.

Teachers also met this month to plan the next activities.

- Inventing a flag for our ideal school
We worked individually, we decided if we wanted to draw it or use digital apps. When they were ready, we voted and chose our favourite one.
We chose David's as the best one to represent us in the competition.

These are all the flags that we created.

OUR FLAGS FOR THE PROJECT

These are the flags chosen by all teams.

AND THE WINNER:

- Inventing a slogan
We worked in pairs. Each one suggested a slogan for our project and then we voted to choose the one that would represent us in the competition.

The slogans we came out with:
1. Your education is your future. Make it fun!
2. A project that bonds schools together.
3. Everything gets better when we work together.
4. My ideal school is cool.
5. Studying and working to develop a better school for all.
6. The school is better if you put all your heart and soul.
7. The project that improves schools.

It was agreed that each school would suggest 2 slogans and these are ours:

MY IDEAL SCHOOL IS COOL
EVERYTHING GETS BETTER WHEN WE WORK TOGETHER

These are the slogans chosen by each team to enter the competition:

AND THE WINNERS:

- Making word clouds with vocabulary related to school
We worked in pairs or in groups to make them.

These were our contributions:

Hecho con Padlet

We worked in 3 groups and each one suggested a word for a letter.

This month we met our Arzu's and Rita's students from Turkey and Italy. We played a KAHOOT ABOUT OUR COUNTRIES so we had lots of fun and learnt a lot.

In April teachers' met to see how activities were going on and organize new ones.

- A collaborative BROCHURE about our ideal school

Each team would work on a different aspect of it.

- A collaborative ANTHEM / POEM ANTHEM / POEM about our ideal school that became two songs later on.

SONG II

- EUROPE DAY

We watched some videos, then students wrote some True/False or multiple choice questions on the forum for a game that would be played online.
